Media- Self Corruption

... The Poem In His Eyes, relates to the quotation about self corruption. The man in the poem murdered his three daughters because he felt that his morals about religion were of great importance and his three daughters were betraying it. "Wanting a different way of life", the three daughter's lives were taken by their father. By murdering his three daughters, he felt that he was teaching them a lesson. The father's mind was corrupted by his religion and by his personal morals. In Canada we call murder a crime but in his mind it was just "his religion". This father had repeatedly corrupted his family to believe in his beliefs and like the quotation number one, corrupting became a repetition.  He corrupted everyone in his life such as his son and wife, which were both fearful of the father. This media poem also relates to the other poem I related to self- corruption called Power Corrupts by Dr. John Celes. The father who killed his three daughters had the power bug. His mind became so used to corrupting, that he became self corrupt. He had lived by his religion for his entire life that he had no other values. The father, much like Mayella in To Kill a Mockingbird felt in such a high power that they could ruin other peoples lives because it didn't affect theirs. His power of being a man, and the leader in the house hold, took him to the point where he saw nothing wrong with the crime of murder...
